NASA to bomb the Moon......again....by crashing the LADEE Lunar probe into it.

Link to the Classic, IMHO, best thread ever NASA to bomb the Moon

NASA' LADEE Lunar Probe to Crash into the Moon this month

The far side of the moon will get a special new crater later this month when a NASA spacecraft makes a high-speed crash into the lunar surface.

NASA's moon-orbiting LADEE probe (short for Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer) is expected to impact Earth's natural satellite sometime on or before April 21. The LADEE spacecraft has been studying the moon's thin atmosphere — called an exosphere — and the lunar dust environment since it began orbiting the moon in October.

"If you hit anything at 1,600 meters (5,250 feet) per second, that's not a landing you walk away from, so it's by no means gentle," Rick Elphic, LADEE project scientist, told reporters during a news conference today (April 3). "This is a very, very high-speed impact, and even though there's a possibility of tumbling across the surface, there's nothing gentle about it. You [LADEE] will be destroyed." [See Photos of NASA's LADEE Mission]

NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (another probe circling the moon) could look for LADEE's crash site after impact, said Butler Hine, LADEE project manager.

What the hell are we going to do about the tides?? The oceans will die, the planet wont be able to survive if we keep bombing the moon. How will this affect me during my moon time?
This sounds like an extinction level event. No periods, no babies.

Didn't we bomb them before? Time for new immigration policies, if we gave them work visas, i think we could stop bombing them every few years.

Bill O'reilley is going to be so pissed when he finds out the tides stop tiding. No moon, no tides. Poor guy might lose his mind.

12. NASA's got nothing on Alexander Abian

Abian gained a degree of international notoriety for his claim that blowing up the Moon would solve virtually every problem of human existence. He made this claim in 1991 in a campus newspaper.[1] Stating that a Moonless Earth wouldn't wobble, eliminating both the seasons and its associated events like heat waves, snowstorms and hurricanes. Refutations were given toward that idea by NASA saying that part of the exploded Moon would come back as a meteorite impacting the Earth and causing sufficient damage to extinguish all life, while restoring the seasons in the process. Just before he died, Abian said that "Those critics who say 'Dismiss Abian's ideas' are very close to those who dismissed Galileo."[2] This claim and others, made in thousands of Usenet posts during the last portion of his life, gained Abian mention (not entirely favorable) and even interviews in such diverse publications as Omni, People, and The Wall Street Journal.[3]
