Stand-your-ground versus "turn the other cheek"

Turning the other cheek really protects people from Zimmerman's situation. Zimmerman is crying for his own lost life. Most men realize that you can't really be hurt by another man unless that man has a knife or gun. Pain isn't really that bad. Real men turn the other cheek. This coward, Zimmerman shot and killed an unarmed man. This is not even manslaughter--it's cold-blooded murder.

Now that we know this law is unjust, inhumane, and against God, will the GOP do the right thing and reverse this law? Sadly they are buried so deep in the pockets of the NRA and ALEC and they're so prideful that they won't do the right thing. Who says the GOP is "christian?" Clearly the GOP is in the hands of Satan.

However you cut it, I don't think we are better off by everyone arming up before they venture out into public.

What if you were a small woman or an elderly person?

Would you rather take the beat down rather than soil your hands by using a firearm?

few folks here have had any kind of defensive training, particulary force-on-force. Otherwise they would not spout such nonsense

Maybe you guys should quit being so afraid of the citizenry, and stop thinking you need a gun everywhere you go like Chuck E Cheeze, churches, parks, etc.

That's not nonsense.

3. True. But you have no chance with the gunshot--depending on their shooting skills.

If being beat goes that far, one would hope that you could escape or someone might rescue you.

No duty to retreat is not inherently inhumane or unjust. Its situation at best.

What some mythical being thinks about it is irrelevant.

Tactically sometimes retreating is the right answer, other times it makes things more dangerous, all independent of laws of that jurisdiction.

There is a lot of fuzz and variables here. Those squealing in outrage are forgetting some of that. When they calm down, hopefully they will join in a reasoned discussion.

If you want to curl up in a ball or whatever - fine by me. But don't try to force your masochism on me. I'm just fine with SYG exactly as it is.
