I ALMOST put this in LBN.

After finding an ancient Spanish map, 'The Goonies' characters set out on an adventure to find treasures hoarded by a pirate named One-Eyed Willie. Pictured from left to right, Corey Feldman, Jonathan Ke Quan, Sean Astin and Kerri Green won over audiences in 1985 and are still favorites today.
Goonies fans rejoice: Director Richard Donner has confirmed he is making a sequel for the 1985 cult film. And even better, Donner hopes to bring back the entire original cast of the movie. However, its unclear whether the returning actors will be the focus of the film or simply make cameo appearances.
Richard Donner spoiled the Goonies reunion news in a nonchalant manner. TMZ caught up with the director and asked him about the prevalence of comic book films in Hollywood today Before directing Goonies, Donner was perhaps best known as the man behind the original Superman film starring Christopher Reeve. The TMZ cameraman then asked Donner if he planned to make any more comic book movies.
If you call Goonies a comic book, Donner replied. Were doing a sequel.
The iconic film follows a group of mischievous friends who are down in the dumps when they find out their homes in Oregon may be demolished. As they go through one of the homes, Mikey (Sean Astin) finds an ancient Spanish map that seems to hold the key to unearthed treasures of a 17th century pirate named One-Eyed Willie.

(10,362 posts)2. Is this all Hollywood has nowadays? Between the Indiana Jones and Star Wars
movies, they just keep trotting out the same old actors for nostalgia $$$.
Seems Hollywood has run out of ideas over the last 10 years

Know what I mean?

(10,362 posts)4. Exactly. And why risk money on something that might not make $500m
when they can just do reboots and sequels for guaranteed money?
