Romney: As Godfather Of HCR, I Can 'Kill It'
"Mitt Romney responded to White House senior adviser David Plouffe's contention that he is the "godfather" of health care reform by saying that gives him the "right to kill it," on Hugh Hewitt's conservative radio talk show Monday evening. From the show's transcript:
HH: Now yesterday, the presidents campaign manager said that you are the godfather of Obamacare. I know thats not the case. I know you didnt cut Medicare or raise taxes, and you didnt change every Americans health care plan. But just for the moment, if thats who you are, can you make the Democrats an office they cant refuse to repeal it?
MR: (laughing) Thats a great idea. We counted, by the way, that Mr. Plouffe is the Rumpelstiltskin of trying to turn straw into gold. He will not be successful. I can tell you one thing. If Im the godfather of this thing, then it gives me the right to kill it. And if Im the president, I will get rid of Obamacare. I will stop it in its tracks on Day One, and get it repealed."

(51,122 posts)I don't think his heart is in this election anymore.
Look at him these days. He has aged a lot in the last year and always looks tired.
Lay down and give up, one-term unremarkable Governor.
Take a nap. You tried and failed.
No shame in that.
Sleep.

(11,489 posts)I'm a godfather myself. I didn't know I had the right to kill my godson. They didn't teach me that in godfather school.
