i do hearby declare, with no power to back me up whatsoever, that today be a day of peace on du.

day to imagine the peace of ignore. ignore the fud, ignore the nuts, ignore those working for the other side.

many people on du do not use ignore for a lot of good reasons. but i think that a one day visit to the land of 'i cant hear you' might be very useful in encouraging people to use this tool.
i ask that people turn forward, and focus on the good that is here. i would like to this post to be a silent thread of solidarity with the democratic party, and a turn forward toward november.
i request that people refrain from naming anyone that they are ignoring. or even how many. just a silent wish to move forward together.
i intend to alert on posts not in the spirit of silence and peace. i urge others to do the same.

who is with me?

I don't know, I usually ignore silly terms like that
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=4780175

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

please read the op, and remove this post. it is not in the spirit of this thread.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Apr 4, 2014, 10:31 AM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: While I agree with the alerter, I don't agree that this post should be hidden. Respond to the post, the poster is wrong about the acronym FUD and if it is just a passive-aggressive hit on the OP, you will have taken this poster down a notch as well.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Not a rule violation.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: This is a discussion forum. Threads don't have spirits. Boo!
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: OP's don't get to make their own rules of what is appropriate or not in their threads. That leads to censorship and disrupts some of DU's core principles. Leave it.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: So if someone starts a thread imploring people not to argue, but someone argues anyway, their post should be removed even though they haven't violated community standards? I think not. If you can't handle a discussion, go look at puppy pictures somewhere.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

I'll reveal a small secret. I'm deliberately being a little "provocative" in my posts today, because I'm curious if this new 7 member jury system will result in censorship of strongly worded opinions. Good to see it seems to not be a factor, so far.
