'Winger Calls for Mass Slaughter of Muslims

JOSH MARSHALL – APRIL 2, 2014, 11:00 PM EDT

This from a conservative film-maker and contributing writer for Breitbart.com, in response to today's shootings at Fort Hood ...

Patrick Dollard Follow
@PatDollard

If there is even one more act of Muslim terrorism, it is then time for Americans to start slaughtering Muslims in the streets, all of them.

6:35 PM - 2 Apr 2014

Usually even the most sociopathic individuals quickly take these sorts of tweets down once the blow back starts. In this case, no.

Meanwhile, latest reports suggests the shooter had no apparent ties to terrorism and was being treated for mental illness and evaluated for PTSD.

If some nut job sitting at home listening to these guys gets all worked up and goes out "hunting for a Muslim" and kills someone, can the guy who instigated the action be tried for murder? I think it is long past time to make right wing media responsible for the actions they cause. You can't yell fire in a movie theater, why is this free speech?

so I looked up 'sedition' on Wikipedia, which led to 'seditious conspiracy,' where I found the following gem:

The federal government has never won a sedition case against militia-types, white supremacists, or neo-Nazis. Since World War I, they have won numerous seditious conspiracy cases against Puerto Rican independentistas, communists and others on the left, but no one on the radical right has ever been convicted of plotting to overthrow by force of arms the government of the United States.

No wonder the RW feels exceptionally emboldened.

to what's been released he did 4 mths in Iraq in 2011. There was no combat missions being ran, the only thing occurring was tearing down the bases.

Plenty of things could have led him to develop PTSD. Accidents, insurgent attacks during the tearing down, witnessing a death...not all psyches are the same, and the same level of trauma can affect different people differently.

Besides, all we know is that he was being assessed for PTSD. That's not necessarily "he had PTSD."

There were no fucking insurgent attacks that's what I'm trying to tell you. Those bullshit 4 mth tours were a joke, but ok let's start with the he possibly had PTSD line bc he was a "soldier" & therefore led to a killing spree.

Hell he may have had PTSD from something. I have a problem with the whole he went ballistic so it must have been from his deployment. There are plenty of us that are truly fucked up that don't go on killing sprees, hell there are a couple of us that have come damn close to the point of killing people in our units & sometimes our units ignore the warnings of our providers.

So maybe what I was trying to say got confused (it happens, I have major neurological issues). It seems the minute an issue with a soldier occurs regardless of consideration of their background it is immediately a PTSD, stonecold killer mentality. I know that's not what this OP was even related to, it just happened to be the one I responded to.

Plenty of my old Security Forces friends did multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq and came back without major issues, and then there were those that had noncombat roles in the rear that came back all kinds of fucked up (like the six month stint I did at Al Udeid flying surveillance and the PTSD I came back with).

It could have been from his deployment, and it just as easily might not have, regardless of whether he saw combat or not. Or it might not have been because of his time in at all, and something that happened stateside off base. Unless his medical records are released, we just don't know.

Sorry to hear about your situation though. As someone going through it as well, let me just say it gets better and sorry for my earlier snark.

for things he experienced prior to his military service, e.g. my oldest son suffers from PTSD from the abuse (being used as a human ashtray and daily beatings) as well as from neglect (not being fed or taken to the MD for medical care) which his birth parents inflicted upon him. The article reports the soldier "was being treated for mental illness and evaluated for PTSD." My son will be 30 years old in August, he still goes to counselling to deal with his anger issues.
