I was reading pros and cons of SYG in some of those threads on here and hey something pops in my head. Ok suppose I'm feeling threatened by a police officer over some imaginary thing I'm doing like speeding and get pulled over by a cop. The cop comes to my window and I notice he has his hand on his pistol while asking me for license and registration. I flip out over the perceived threat and blow his head off in reaction. Do I get off scot-free based on the SYG law?
BTW that scenario is similar to Trayvon's. You know...Zimmerman's baseless perceived threat.

(20,411 posts)the SYG law explicitely states (at least the Fl version) that it does not apply to LE officers performing official duties

(39,171 posts)you have always had the right to defend yourself in your own home. SYG was an extension of that right outside of your home.
