I think that was the name of the show, only saw it the one time, but there were two puppets, one Ron, the other Nancy. They were discussing their early courtship. The Nancy puppet said:

"Oh, Ronnie, I remember when you proposed. It was so romantic! You took me in your arms, grasped me tightly by the shoulders, gazed deeply in my eyes, then shook me violently while you yelled, 'What do you mean, the rabbit died?'"

(and it is a positive one too):

First lady Nancy Reagan came looking for him one afternoon, and Mr. Allen wondered whether he or a member of his staff had done something wrong. She assured him that he had not but also told him that his services would not be needed at the upcoming state dinner for German Chancellor Helmut Kohl. Mr. Allen tensed, wondering why.

"She said, 'You and Helene are coming to the state dinner as guests of President Reagan and myself,' " he recounted in the Post interview. Mr. Allen thought he was the first butler to receive an invitation to a state dinner. He and Helene -- she was a beautiful dresser -- looked resplendent that night. The butlers on duty seemed to pay special attention to the couple as they poured champagne for guests -- champagne that Mr. Allen himself had stacked in the kitchen.

(Not criticizing the o.p. or this thread, just the content.)

The other one, about RAYGUN's supposedly regretting his having switched to Rethugism, turned out to be satire. And in this movie, even though Jane as Nancy will still make 'Baggers' heads explode, the movie is about the butler in the White House, and Jane/Nancy will only be in a few scenes, most likely sympathetic ones.

If only it dished the DIRT, like in Kitty KELLEY’s book about Nancy, that started out memorably with (paraphrase), “Nothing in her birth certificate is true. Not her name, not the date of birth, not the name of the father.” Or the X-rated parts about her dating habits in Hollywood as a starlet or those afternoons alone with SINATRA in the White House. But I’m grateful that she has restrained the wingnuts in their adoration of RAYGUN, vetoing their desire to take FDR off the dime and put RAYGUN on it.

I would like to say something, not just to Vietnam veterans in New England, but to men who were in Vietnam, who I hurt, or whose pain I caused to deepen because of things that I said or did. I was trying to help end the killing and the war, but there were times when I was thoughtless and careless about it and I'm very sorry that I hurt them. And I want to apologize to them and their families. [...] I will go to my grave regretting the photograph of me in an anti-aircraft gun, which looks like I was trying to shoot at American planes. It hurt so many soldiers. It galvanized such hostility. It was the most horrible thing I could possibly have done. It was just thoughtless.

Now, you may still want to go ahead and continue your pointless animosity towards her about something that happened almost 40 years ago. That is your choice.

She apologized in a thoughtful and heartfelt way, IMO. That war is over and it's time to move on.

defend Hanoi against enemy aircraft that were bombing the city day and night.

The Viet Nam war was illegal and immoral. Peaceful resistance against an
illegal and immoral war does not make you a traitor. My only objection to
Jane Fonda back then is that she was play acting at being a political radical.

She didn't have the FBI hunting her down for ten years like Ayers and Dorhn.

Abby Hoffman and Jerry Rubin are another couple of attention whores.

Rubin showed up on the UVic campus back in the day and tried to get the
students to occupy the admin building and he was roundly ignored. He was
so pissed he caught the next plane out of town. He was nothing but a poseur
who turned right wing the first chance he got to make some money.
