WaPo/Abc Poll: Nearly half of Americans support Obamacare

A new Washington Post-ABC News poll reports that 49 percent of Americans support the Affordable Care Act while 48 percent oppose the new health care law.

The poll released Monday also showed that President Barack Obama's once low marks for handling the rollout of Affordable Care Act has also improved. Forty-four percent approve of his performance on implementing the law, up six points from March and 11 points from November, in the wake of numerous problems with the federal exchange website.

As frosting on the Obamacare cake, Monday night saw the health care law's marketplace ended its first open enrollment period. Despite a rocky start and continued Republican opposition, the enrollment is being considered a success.

The late surge of registrations made it highly likely that enrollment would hit 7 million, with The Associated Press citing two sources, saying sign-ups were on track to reach the original goal of the Obama administration and a projection from the Congressional Budget Office prior to the open enrollment period.

well reflected on DU, are people who want it improved or replaced by single payer.

I HOPE that any liberal/progressive DUer, if called, and given this two choice - support or not support poll, responds "support". The reason is that the not support is always interpreted publicly as supporting the Republicans. This in spite of other polls that allow more complex answers. It is in those polls that you see, it really is considered better than the prior status quo by over 50%.

Answering no will not lead to single payer -- it will lead to numbers that are then used to suggest that the Democrats are out of line with what the country wants.
