The first story was that Martin had something construed as dangerous in his hand.

Last edited Mon Mar 26, 2012, 10:20 PM - Edit history (1)

That version had Zimmerman drawing in self defense because he thought Martin, who had his hands in his pants, was coming out with a gun. That story then morphed into Zimmerman approaching him from behind and having angry words before Martin attacked him.

Now, Zimmerman's personal statement has him sauntering back to his truck when Martin pulled a Pearl Harbor on him, breaking his nose in the process. Where's the police report that has Zimmerman's original account immediately after the event?

I don't know why we aren't reading original quotes taken from officers on the scene right now, but with feds closing in on the Sanford PD, there'd better be matching accounts. I don't want to hear that the cops never thought to ask Zimmerman what happened after he said "I was defending myself".

On edit: Someone better say he had a freakin' broken nose too.

Someone told me that they heard that Zimmerman's gun went off by accident.

I'm wondering, if you are really convinced that someone is packing, does it make sense to chase him down? Or do you wait for the police to handle it?

I really think that Zimmerman saw how small Trayvon was, and decided he could take him.

It was such a call that police released last week. Zimmerman told the 911 operator that he saw a suspicious teenager.

“Something's wrong with him. Yep. He's coming to check me out,” Zimmerman told a police dispatcher in a 911 call released Monday. “He's got something in his hands. I don't know what his deal is. Send officers over here.”

The teen started to run, Zimmerman reported. When Zimmerman said he was following, the dispatcher told him, “We don't need you to do that.”

Shortly afterward, neighbors began calling 911 to report a fight, then a gunshot. By the time police arrived, Trayvon Martin was dead.

Here is the police report which has no mention of this new version but maybe he gave another acct when he was at the station.
