Residents in Mammoth woke to 5 inches of fresh snow and a magnitude 4.8 earthquake. No damage has been reported.

It is an effective picture.
We are visited by handfuls of deer, swans, and much less obvious wildlife here in Ann Arbor. On the whole, it's okay, as long as you don't plant something they want to eat.
My sister in MA, on the other hand, has a bear raiding her bird feeder...

It seems there are always animals in the front yards at Mammoth. It is kind of cool, COLD right now but still cool.
