(16,254 posts)I read over a hundred posts and probably 98% of them were positive.
It was also great to see the posts about Cruz and his cohorts ruining the country. They may be in for a big surprise come 2014 elections.

(18,636 posts)What did he expect, hordes of people anxious to express their anger with something they aren't subscribed to? I'm sure he got a few of those, but few people have the kind of coverage he enjoys.
Maybe he plays his speeches in a loop while he's sleeping and really believes no one wants govt help with health insurance costs.
On edit:
He reminds me of Mr Haney from Green Acres. Not only does he physically have that same look of a shyster in his eyes, he's also always hawking something worthless that benefits himself.

(4,542 posts)BTW, your milage may very, but if you are inclined to post on his page think about how you use FB. I was running rough shod on his page awhile back and FB put me in FB jail for 3-4 months. Couldn't make or post on "pages." Created a couple of special FB characters for that now. But that's against TOS! LOL F'em.

(62,276 posts)These people are putting their hearts on their sleeve, really telling intimate, personal stories. It's pretty fascinating and amazing to be honest. Cruz could say "oh it's a bunch of astroturfers" if it was just a lot of Yes/No votes, but all the personal stories being shared. You could write a book about them.

(118 posts)All these stories of how having health insurance now is saving peoples's lives are personal and in many cases wrenching! I read through 1249 responses last night and 200 more today. The author says you could write a book about this! Hello! How do we get this genuine information out to the real world? Wouldn't you think MSM might be interested in 42,706 folks telling Cruz overwhelmingly that they like and need their Obamacare?

(16,846 posts)The only reason they have so much representation in Congress is because of gerrymandering and lack of voter participation by most people. They surround themselves with others who think just like they do, and they think everybody is just like them. It's also easy for southerners to be deluded because there are so many teabaggers down here and they're running most of the southern states right now. They have no clue about what the majority of people who are outside of their little cliques are thinking.

On Monday Ted Cruz, in anticipation of the impending doom of Americasomething the rest of us would call the Affordable Care Act signup deadlineposed a question to his idiot followers on Monday. It was the tried-and-true drumbeat of the Stupid Party, an attempt to capitalize on the words of the President to whine about Obamacare.
Unfortunately for Cruz, when he asked, Quick poll: Obamacare was signed into law four years ago yesterday. Are you better off now than you were then? Comment with YES or NO! Cruz was surely not expecting what happened next: ACA supporters flocked to the thread to express exactly how deluded Green Eggs and Bullsh*t really is. Pages and pages of comments in support of the Presidents signature law flooded into Cruzs page:

The Tea Party crusade against the Affordable Care Act (ACA) hit a huge snag this week. On March 24, 2014, Texas Tea Party Senator, Ted Cruz, decided to put up a quick poll, about the ACA on his facebook page. Problem? The Koch brothers dont control the conversation on social media, the people do.
Ask a question, get an answer.
The question Rafael Ted Cruz asked on facebook was simple. Are you better off now than you were before the ACA, also called Obamacare, was signed into law, four years ago?
Nearly 40,000 comments later, the resounding answer from people all across the country was YES.
People love the ACA.
People who responded to the question cited different reasons for saying that theyre better off since the ACA went into effect. Some pointed out that the ACA has saved them money, reduced their monthly premiums, and lowered deductibles and co-pays.
A large number of those who responded to Cruzs quick poll, said cited the ACA that prevents insurance companies from dropping people with a preexisting condition.

(111,274 posts)People who are well enough off to have computers are going to find a great deal of relief in the ACA, so the idiot should have seen it coming.
I suppose he'll cherrypick the handful of sourpusses who are crabbing because it aint free and use them to "prove" that the ACA sucks.

(18,219 posts)and I didn't even see a call to DU the poll. Maybe I missed it. Or maybe even his followers are happy with ACA. Too funny.

(12,448 posts)I've sent this to a couple of my friends who whine about the ACA. Neither of them have insurance and can't understand why they "have to" buy insurance.
But the strangest, weirdest comment I've heard yet came on the radio from a woman has the ACA, she couldn't get insurance at all because of a pre-existing condition, was surprised at how low the cost was, likes the insurance itself...but hates Obamacare. Why? "Too much government!"
Not much you can do about stupid.

(118 posts)Been saving screenshots cause I thought he would take the page down. Have 2449 comments saved so far.discovered that new comments are added in not in chronological order. Go to FB page and click on Recent Activity. It will give you recent comments and replies. Quite amazing to read the replies - when someone complains about ACA ( very few nays still, after a week of postings) - others jump in with correct information. It is without a doubt the best and most honest discussion on ACA that I have ever seen! My hat is off to Cruz for letting it continue! Very hard to save it as the order of postings keeps changing. Wish we could deputize interested DUers to each take a section and save it! Everyone should take the time to read not only the comments but the replies as well. Hope this helps. Peace, Hannah

The Olympiad of officials and institutions reaching out to the public via social media and not hearing what they expected has a new champion: Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
Back on March 24, Cruz posted an informal survey on his verified senatorial Facebook page. It read: "Quick poll: Obamacare was signed into law four years ago yesterday. Are you better off now than you were then? Comment with YES or NO!"
It's probably fair to say that he didn't expect the tsunami of "YES" votes that have shown up on the page among the 47,000 that Facebook says have been posted.
Respondents have listed, among other things, their newfound ability to obtain coverage despite preexisting medical conditions, the right of young adults to stay on their parents' policies to age 26, lower premiums and the end of lifetime benefit limits.
