US Rep. Mike Rogers Of Michigan Won’t Seek Re-Election

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers of Michigan, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee who has been a prominent voice as President Barack Obama attempts to overhaul U.S. surveillance, said Friday that he won’t seek re-election after his term ends this year.

“Wow, holy cow,” WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick said upon hearing the news. ”This came out of absolutely no where.”

Rogers, a seven-term Republican, announced his plans during an interview on a Detroit radio station. The 50-year-old former FBI agent, who has been invited regularly to talk about national security issues on TV and radio, said he’ll serve out the end of his term and plans to start a national radio program

“It’s a pretty rare opportunity,” Rogers said “They don’t come around every day.”

Ingham County is predominantly Democratic and Shiawasse County is evenly split.

Livingston County is Republican, but is less populous than Ingham.

I presume that a suitable candidate would likely emerge from the Ingham County organization.

RW-radio career, just as it's clear that it is a now-dying medium, as evidenced by the precipitous ratings drops experienced by Limpballs, Insannity, etc.

which we are not aware of yet.

He's X FBI so I don't think its corruption because he still has his contacts and security clearance.

I'm not buying the DJ thing.

something's up with that. His voice in his position was too important for him to throw it over to be a DJ.

We shall see, I guess...

Only morons tune into these RW talk shows that say the same thing over and over every single day;
Obama Bad
No Health care for the Working Poor
Food Stamps are all being used to buy drugs
Homosexuals are recruiting your children in school!
The rich are being picked on by being made to pay taxes.
And other nonsense.

It's the great right wing echo machine.
The good news is that their ratings are sinking.
