Child expelled from school for potentially heading towards lesbianism (Original Post) Takket Mar 2014 OP
The good news is, now she has a chance to go to a school where they will teach actual science. Warren DeMontague Mar 2014 #1

The parents who are sending their kids to be taught by young Earth Creationists aren't doing them any favors in terms of college and the highly math-and-science focused job market of the 21st century.

- not to mention downright mean, of course- policy, to assume that their curriculum is highly, erm, 'faith-based'.

But one filled with hate as Westboro Baptist. How they can claim to be Christian and not follow the teachings of Jesus is beyond this Christians comprehension. This does nit send a good message.

to get a decent education. She has very loving grandparents. She's a lucky girl.

If this can't be undone, then I hope she makes good new friends at another school.

I graduated from high school like that in Texas. Those buffoons shouldn't be allowed to be in charge of anything more important than cookies and juice. That kid is WAY better off almost anywhere else.

I suppose by undone I meant that in the biggest way possible where the school realizes it error (its bigotry) and makes amends.

I think I read that the girl really misses her friends and wishes she could go back.

But I suspect you are correct that she's better off elsewhere.

(Them realizing what assholes they are) but generally, assholes don't.

The grandmother isn't planning to sue or anything (as far as I can tell) so I doubt the school will experience anything more than the self-righteous congratulations from their insular circle for standing up for their "christian" principles.

Ironically, I also sometimes don't realize when I'm being and asshole so I apologize if my initial reply seemed like I was attacking you as that was not my intent. I graduated high school 33 years ago and still get worked up and feel bitter about my (lack of) education. And it truly makes me despair that that the intervening and current generations of kids were/are being subjected to same.

I am glad we found a good school (parochial) that has an openly transgender student who is as fully accepted as every other student. Among the values they teach is "Judge not let ye be judged"

It is right there in First Bigot Chapter 1, Verse 5. 'And Jesus said, "thou shalt not allow little girls to be tomboys."'

So suck it up, gay agenda pushing people!

when they are adults, end up being asexual. One wouldn't think that would be objectionable to Christians who hate LGBT. But, for those kids who are in that small minority, if they're encouraged to act and dress like they're sexuals, it could set up problems for them later on in their adult relationships.
