Trayvon parents: Son disrespected even in death

(CBS/AP) SANFORD, Fla. - Prior to a march and rally to be held marking one month since a Florida teenager was fatally shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer, the parents of Trayvon Martin defended their son and decried reports that offered contrary accounts of the confrontation.

Rev. Al Sharpton said that he had warned Trayvon's parents that their son would become the subject of speculation: "As much as it will hurt, they will try to make your son a junkie, a thief, assaulter, everything else before this is over," he said. "If you want to discuss something relevant, discuss what Zimmerman might have had in his system. Discuss his past.

how many people have used the plight of African Americans, from jobs to the war on drugs, to bolster their political agendas.

Yet the minute a young black male is shot, apparently for no reason, every stereotype in the book (he was a pot-smoking thug who broke assailant's nose) is being offered up to justify his death and excuse his killer.

Disgusting.

"Of course we have studiously avoided making any speculation about Zimmerman's chsracter"

Boo-hoo.

You mean the murderous racist asshole with a criminal record, who who is still alive to tell "his side" of the story, and defend his own character, while he tears down Trayvon Martin's character?

He murdered. He muttered "coon". He had a criminal record. He tore down Trayvon's character.

What there is hyperbolic nonsense that sounds like a freeper?

Edited to add that it is spelled "intelligent", not "intellegent". FWIW.

hard cold evidence (stuff a jury can convict on) that one he committed a murder and two that he is a racist (not some garbled goobly gook) and I will conceide. ntil then it is hyperboyle period.

Legally, intent matters in these 2 words but this is not a court of law. I do not see how Z could have shot Trayvon in the chest without intending to make T dead.

I am not surprised at all when you consider the sources of this garbage. They were even going as far as posting a fake picture of the boy that was from another Trayvon Martin.

I was getting so angry at the reporters....then Rev Al toko the mic....I was clapping and shouting at the TV...I was so glad that he let them have it. How dare they demonize a dead child. Trayvon can't speak for himself. Zimmerman has had a month to get his story together....I don't believe anything he says, but here's the deal, this stand your ground law...didn't Trayvon have a right to stand his ground and punch that jerk in the nose?
I turned and asked my son what he would do if someone was following him...He said, what the f*ck are you doing....this is easy to say sitting on the couch, but I do believe he would do that...and I would have thought that would be reasonable, I don't think that any longer.
