Family Statement about Trayvon, marijuana, and his suspension:

GottaLaff (@GottaLaff)
3/26/12 1:09 PM
NewsAlert: Family spokesman: Trayvon Martin was suspended from school because of pot residue in book bag

And on the story rolls......
Every mistake or problem Trayvon had will be exposed and used as proof of his character. It won't matter the circumstances or how long ago.
Few people could withstand such scrutiny. I couldn't.

It takes up to 6 weeks (or more) for the cannabinoids to completely disappear from your body.

So, he might have smoked pot. That is not a capital crime last I looked. Nor is having tatoos. Or swearing. Or having a twitter account. Or having a face book page. Or being black or being a teenager. Or being a black male teenager wearing a hoodie. I would think it just as tragic if Treyvon had even been in the process of committing an actual crime so long as that crime was not violent, there is no reason to resort to violent force. What if he had been in the possession of say a stolen wallet, you shoot him? Really that seems like the solution to a stolen something anything? Seriously, these people complaining about Treyvon having drug residue in his backpack better be squeaky clean, before they start throwing stones.

He is neither as good nor as bad as he has been painted. He was followed even though he wasn't doing anything. He didn't deserve to be shot, and Zimmerman should have stayed in his SUV.

NOTHING you posted has bearing on this. 17 year olds posture and talk to friends differently. No relevance, because it proves nothing except in your twee mind.

And that is why those who wanted to portray him as squeaky-clean went horribly wrong. Even if it comes out that he was dealing weed, so what? It certainly doesn't warrant death. But the juxtaposition of that little boy's pic (not current) with the big, overweight menacing mug of George's (not current) was UNFAIR, as was the depiction of Trayvon in the first place. I smelled a rat with the suspension contradiction between his mother and father. His mother went out of her way to say that the tardies were her fault and caused him to be suspended; the father claimed he was in an unauthorized area but would not elaborate. As soon as I read that, I knew he was hiding something and it was because he probably didn't want Tray to seem more suspicious to Zimmerman.

People are tired of the crime in their areas. I lived over a crackhouse for a year and became a Gladys Kravitts as a result, due to all the strange people going in and out. I didn't know exactly what was happening until one of the customers held someone up at gunpoint and the victim followed him to our apt. complex. I could have called the police long before then, I suppose, but I don't believe in locking people up in prison for selling any drugs. However...It was a nightmare. And the customers stole my bike, a stained glass window in the lobby...

Zimmerman might have been overly anxious about strangers in his little gated community and the gun sure didn't help. Arrest him. Let the courts deal with it. But the other side was wayyyy too eager to make this about race and that was not right, IMO.

(By the way, telling me to "go away" isn't really nice or open-minded... :hi )

I'm not nice! You are a troll of the worst order.

It WAS about race moran! Zimmerman called him a coon. You can tell yourself it wasn't until the end of time. Trayvon wouldn't have gotten a second look if he was white.

BTW most people portray their loved ones to the outside world as the best. It's human nature especially if they have passed.

You are viewing this through your experiences. Don't judge everybody by the problems you had t one place and time.

GROW UP!

zimmerman, and zimmerman alone "made this about race" when he choose to stalk and murder Trayvon Miller...because he was Black. zimmerman was more than "over-anxious," he was a self-appointed vigilante, who against police advice, decided to be judge, jury and executioner. the bastard is a murderer who deserves to rot in hell.
