From what I read about these 'Stand Your Ground' laws, if you claim 'Self-Defense' then it gets really tricky to hold an investigation since the law gives a person the benefit of the doubt when using that plea. If they had done the proper investigation there, it's possible that the person claiming 'self-defense' could run a lawsuit against the police department.

It really just comes down to a shitty law created by the GOP, NRA and ALEC.

Is giving a person the benefit of doubt different than presumption of innocence?

The Florida law predates ALEC. Their model legislation was lifted near verbatim from the Florida law.

for any nonsense you type on the keyboards they manufactured? How about the company that made the chips? The workers who provided the silicon? God, for making everything?

Computers are not designed, made, or sold with the inherent capacity to deliver a blow lethal to humans, and the intent that they be used for such. If and when they are, and if they are still made and sold for profit, we will hold them accountable for the deaths they cause. Until then, your analogy is extremely silly, but I will try very hard not to laugh at it. Thank you, and goodbye--have a terrific day.

If Zimmerman wasn't walking around with a gun Trayvon would be alive today. Don't listen to gun nuts who would try to say otherwise.

Our system requires blood sacrifice. There can be no other way. So don't even try to imagine it.

Are they quietly whimpering in a dark corner begging God's forgiveness for what their reckless folly rendered?

No, my guess is they are huddled with lawyers and PR people trying to figure out a way to get out of it, and if not, how they can turn it around and put the blame on someone other than them. When they have this figured out, you'll see them show themselves.
