Now if only Bush and Cheney would lose theirs too...
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) Four of the nine Republicans recently sentenced in a public-corruption case were forced to forfeit state pensions besides serving time behind bars.
State law requires the forfeiture of pensions of public officials and employees convicted of using their positions to commit theft and certain other crimes.
Records released by the State Employees' Retirement System in response to a Right-to-Know request filed by The Associated Press revealed that former House Speaker John Perzel of Philadelphia and ex-Rep. Brett Feese of Lycoming County lost the most.
Perzel lost $7,138 monthly pension checks and Feese lost monthly checks of $5,423.
