but since the responders were turned off, the plane could not be identified on radar as anything other than a blip.

Last night, Don Lemon and guests had the thing almost solved, and one of the things they said was that since the plane was flying so low for a time, it would not have the fuel to take it too far down in the Indian Ocean. They did a full run of tests on the simulator and knew how long it took to go from 35,000 to 12,000 and it took just 2-1/2 minutes, and the plane righted itself and was flying low, and was spotted by fisherman who were astonished to see it flying so low, not going south...

I am not convinced that the plane is in the southern Indian Ocean. It has been mentioned that "orange" was seen from planes, signifying life jackets, etc...

but doubt the families will give up home until some objects are pulled out of the ocean and identified as part of the plane. I know the Malaysian P.M. wants closure, but that's not going to happen without proof.

unless there is proof.

Too many things were said then retracted and as one of those who followed the whole thing on CNN, am waiting for another retraction.

We want proof, Mr. PM, and British Satellite, proof, proof, proof.

An active responder would have identified the plane . . . and it got turned off somehow.

Let's say that it's in the southern ocean. Because of the way the responder was turned off and how long the plane stayed in the air, something happened, and that will be the mystery even if the plane were found. This won't put the thing to bed because of the cynicism surrounding the information since the plane disappeared...

Hopefully that will change soon, but it's pretty peculiar, imho.
