I will ALWAYS care more about you than I will about politicians

who ALWAYS seem to care more about corporate interests than ALL of us combined. WE get these people elected. WE DO the HARD work.

I may not like you. I may not read your posts 9/10 times, but if you have a personal tragedy happening in your life, I will ALWAYS care more about that than about the supposed feelings of a man I don't even know, although I happily voted for him and would again because "D." And I do "know you" (sort of...on an Internet board that has become a major part of a lot of lives...else we wouldn't be reccing that Memorial page so hard, would we?).

Another thing: ADVOCATE for your loved ones. I used to be embarrassed by my husband with his asking questions, demanding answers (I grew up to respect the "authority" of a doctor), and then he took out the entire 6th floor of a hospital and ending up saving my life another time.

People matter.

***Disclaimer: I personally, have been helped by ACA, and I am GRATEFUL we have something. That does not stop me from feeling badly for those who are having issues with signing up or who can't afford it.

I changed my name when it became uncomfortable for me. Then I put that little note in there so those who cared to look at my profile would know who I was.

I know they won't read here or have hard worse and can handle it.

That doesn't mean i am not disgusted at those attacks and my views of the ones who say such things will not be affected.

Especially when i hear the same shit from teabaggers all the time.

have engaged in anti gay rhetoric. Obama said only straight couples are approved by God and have a 'spiritual element' to their relationships 'I'm a Christian' he said to defend his supremacist attitude. He also employed anti gay speakers, Donnie McClurkin was famous for saying gay people try to kill children 'this is war' he said on 700 Club. Obama hired him as surrogate, Mrs Obama said he was her favorite singer of the gospel. No one ever apologized for that.
Rick Warren was elevated to Inaugural Speaker a few days after he'd equated gay people with pedophiles and incest. 'He is America's Minister' were we attacked viciously for opposing that hate speaker's presence.
No one every apologized for that. Called us pedophiles and criminals, then Obama and the Party lauded him. No apology to us.
So if others were to hold your standards, we'd never have voted for Obama or really for many Democrats, who have done things like vote for DOMA, DADT, who haves often said 'I'm a Christian so I oppose them'.
No one ever apologized for sounding exactly like Tea Baggers. Not even rank and file Democrats offered apology. We were and still are expected to take any trash dished out about us.
Currently, DU frequently praises Pope Francis, who calls LGBT equality the work of Satan, who leads 42% of Uganda while they pass laws to put us in jail forever. They sound like Tea Baggers. But they also do not apologize, not even after Uganda passed that law and the attacks began.
So really, how precious are the feelings of the straights.....so precious. How do you wake up in the morning and draw breath in a world with Will Pitt in it?

"That does not stop me from feeling badly for those who are having issues with signing up or who can't afford it."

...I empathize and sympathize with anyone who is "having issues." Still, that doesn't mean disregarding decency and facts.

No one takes at face value the distorted stories of those who claim to be hurt by Obamacare when the right pushes them.

Being critical of misinformation is not an attack on the person's well-being. No one correcting the distortions from the right is going to wish a person used by them ill-health.

Cheering for the team or a figurehead while your neighbors are in trouble is not what it is all about. It's too bad a certain faction has made it "either you're with us or against us" and is trying to turn Democrats into lockstep supporters--in their own image. Loyalty oaths are far less important than making sure the government works for the people of this country in all senses of the word.

Thanks for making the message so clear.

That sense of community seems to be sorely lacking sometimes these days... People are more interested in pushing they're viewpoints (on either side) than seeing the people behind the posts (I'm guilty of it too).

the memorial thread holds that to be true for a good many of us. The person who responded first in this thread is someone I have considered to be a close friend for over a decade. I have yet to have that kinship with a politician. It's not about them for me... it's about YOU, Egnever.

I have been pretty shocked at what was revealed by WP's post. For some people I guess, the feelings, although to be honest I doubt politicians care much what is said about them by powerless people, of ONE person, are far more important than the Health of ordinary people.

Thank you for your post .... I will always care more about people too!

Do we care about every other stranger just as much too, "more than the politicians." Including those the ACA helps?

Hell, politicians are people too. It is silly to claim they are all bad and useless and "owned by the corporations" and all that crap. They are our elected representatives, and that means something to us other than the claims of random persons on the internet.
