Think of a President Romney or McCain and this Russia/Putin crisis? We would already be at war......

Obama has disappointed many on some topics I understand, but I think all of us here agree that McCain or Romney would already have us in a war with Russia!

I would hope we are all happy President Obama is making the decisions this week.

I think they would be far more bellicose and rattling the saber. I'd like to think no one is insane enough to directly fight Russia, unless they invaded the US mainland (which I don't see happening any time soon).

other than the fact that it gives them another opportunity to malign the President. They would instead be cutting deals with Putin and his Oligarchs over oil fields, tar sands and lands-to-be-fracked, while they let China choke to death trying to keep up with their coal.

They would have propped up Mubarak. let Syria be Syria and invade Libya instead. Those fuckers want no part of tangling with Russia, or Iran, if push came to shove.

It's not a football game. We have to have faith that humans move forward in spite of our psychotic entanglements.

Ukraine right now.

If Romney were president, there would be no discussion of invasion. There would be a lot of references to Eisenhower's cool-headed response when the USSR invaded Hungary and we did not respond. There would be backroom oil deals going on but no war.
