The 64,000 members of One Million Moms are targeting Nabisco over its This is Wholesome campaign that prominent features a same-sex couple and their children.
Nabisco should be ashamed of themselves for attempting to normalize sin, said the group, in its latest missive.
The company behind Honey Maid graham crackers and Teddy Grahams, unveiled the diversity-rich advertising campaign earlier this month, featuring same-sex parents among its collection of real American families.
This commercial not only promotes homosexuality, but then calls the scene in the advertisement wholesome, chided the group. One Million Moms stands up for Biblical truth which is very clear in Romans 1:26-27 about this particular type of sexual perversion.

I am so glad to have seen this advertisement. I think this is very cool! Keep complaining there conservatives, you are bringing awareness to this great company!

(12,799 posts)The Kraft / RJR / Nabisco / General Foods conglomerate isn't making these commercials because they harm the bottom line. Advertizing isn't about changing social norms. Advertizing is about selling product. Clearly, inclusive advertizing sells product. Congrats to LGBTQ activists everywhere. This speaks to your success.

Corporations will do whatever maximizes their profit. That is -- literally -- the bottom line. It just so happens that their ad has successfully latched on to an encouraging zeitgeist. Perhaps they actually believe their ads. Or maybe they're just opportunists. Another huge conglomerate, Coca-Cola, which profited over efforts to fight AIDS in Africa, while at the same time allegedly hiring union-busting squads in Central America, is a master at this sort of cynical misdirection.
mountain grammy
(26,655 posts)but the commercials do mirror the changing social norms so, in this case, I'm glad to see it. Also, if it pisses off the fanatics I'll consider that a plus. But let's remember, that shit really ain't made by elves.

(83,927 posts)A right-wing conservative group is crying foul following the debut of Nabisco's "Wholesome" graham cracker commercial for both Honey Maid and Teddy Grahams, which features a pair of gay fathers with their children.
One Million Moms, which is best known for its failed boycott of JC Penney after the retail chain hired Ellen DeGeneres as its spokesperson in 2012, claims they are "highly offended" by Nabisco's disrespect of millions of American families by supporting the homosexual agenda," Right Wing Watch first reported.
"Nabisco should be ashamed of themselves for their latest Honey Maid and Teddy Graham cracker commercial where they attempt to normalize sin," members of One Million Moms wrote on the group's website. "Right away it shows two men with a baby, followed by other families, and ends with different families pictured including the one with two dads."
They added, "This commercial not only promotes homosexuality, but then calls the scene in the advertisement wholesome."

Do you think quoting Marx to Rush Limbaugh would shame him? Hah! But quoting Jesus to Fred Phelps should have shamed him, unless he's a hypocrite. Wait, think he is?
Honestly. You think a Christian from Texas would give a shit about a Hindu reading a Veda about why you shouldn't eat cows? It is written? So what? Hey, Christian. You know how you think their beliefs are bullshit? Right back atcha!

Item #8 in the link below:
http://www.buzzfeed.com/daves4/20-things-you-never-knew-about-popular-inventions
The Graham cracker was conceived of as a health food as part of the Graham Diet, a regimen to suppress what he considered unhealthy carnal urges
Graham would often lecture about the adverse effects of masturbation or self-abuse as it was commonly called at the time.

By all means threaten boycotts, march, whine, do whatever you want IT IS A FREE COUNTRY and you can certainly EXERCISE YOUR OWN RIGHTS but you aren't going to win because truth is not on your side.
You can throw a hissy fit, you can make up all kinds of lies and twist the Bible to suit your own lowlife prejudices, but it's too late, YOU LOST.
Because most sane rational people can see that sexual orientation has nothing to do with a person's morality, their worth or now thankfully, their rights. And those that cannot see it? Well they are dying off and taking their fossilized ideas with them.

(3,596 posts)well we know conservatives don't like facts, especially facts that contradict their world view...
But the past several census results have revealed that the nuclear family is a thing of the past. The majority of households consist of unmarried couples (same or opposite gender) and single persons, with or without children.
I applaus Nabisco and other advertisers that are willing to start showing American "families" the way they are - they are mixed race, they are single moms and single dads, they are lesbian and gay couples, with and without children.
As for "perversion", I suggest this group focus on child trafficking, spousal abuse, child abuse, the deterioration of the "family" with the majority of persons divorcing at least once and question why that is, the poor state of foster children, etc.
