(37,573 posts)I think of Reagan's loss in the 1976 primary and then his landslide in 1980. But there are very few examples of a losing candidate coming back to win. Nixon 1960 and 1968. Dole was part of the losing ticket in 1976 and won the nomination in 1996 to lose handily. Mondale was part of the losing ticket in 1980 and got clobbered again in 1984. FDR lost as VEEP in 1924 and then won big in 1932.
Hate to tell the Republicans, but Hillary 2016 is more like Reagan 1980 than Romney is.
Think about it. Like Reagan, she only lost a primary.
Plus she will doubtless be running on a platform of Reaganomics, which is the new American standard.
Clinton always was adept at out-Republicaning the Republicans.

(6,994 posts)she has billionaires waiting to back her campaign...(had to be careful how I said that) butt I'm hoping for maybe a Biden/Warren ticket or Sanders/Warren wouldn't that be nice. Talk about taking our country back..Campaigns like these would have to be supported by the voters cause certainly no corporate money would be flowing their way.

(3,539 posts)Will the high rollers think that Mitt Romney will give them a better deal? Will Jeb Bush be their great champion?
Will Scott Walker be their best investment?
Doesn't matter. Works out all the same. Throw enough money at it, a little Fox news and it doesn't matter what dog they bet on.
Less I forget to mention....
