and if, as I hear being said, this show is very true to life, then I'm frightened to the core.
But it explains why we ended up with less than what we wanted, even when we had a majority. Too much outside money influencing our laws and policies.
Will there ever be a way out of this situation? Isn't that what we need to fight for- starting with overturning Citizens United?
The discussions here today at DU amaze me- blaming any one lawmaker when its in fact the system itself that is fucked up just isn't productive.
I'm not as good of a writer as most here, but that's my two cents.

(131,106 posts)both the Brit version, 'To Play the King,' and the U.S. version show more about individual attributes, sociopathy, than about our entire system, which is much more based on the power of money and propaganda than simply individuals' attributes. IMO.
I don't see a way out of our U.S. situation without drastic changes in the way campaigns are funded, and I don't expect it to happen ever.
