Dale is the last decent Republican in Wisconsin, and is not running for re-election. Dale voted with Democrats against much of the Walker agenda.

(111,339 posts)Good for him. ALEC was created to make legislators lazy enough to do just that and the enticement was all the extra hours they could devote to fattening their campaign donations.

(3,974 posts)He's been a legislator since 1982. If the Republicans gain total control of the Federal Government, we are truly fucked. Wisconsin has been destroyed (seriously) under total (every branch) Republican control. I hope it does not happen to the Nation.
Now he says:
. . . I am not willing to defend them anymore, he explained when Salvia asked why Republicans sought to limit the number of voting hours a municipality could offer. Im just not and Im embarrassed by this.

Last week, Schultz argued that there were no legitimate justifications for some of the election reforms pushed by Republicans.
Its all predicated on some belief there is a massive fraud or irregularities, something my colleagues have been hot on the trail for three years and have failed miserably at demonstrating, he said.
Schultz has had it with the Republican party. All he can really do is quit, after 32 years of service! They are totally out of control in Wisconsin. Sucks to be us.

(81,466 posts)a defection. Granted, I guess he's not running again, but I just have to wonder at the rationales behind some of these folks. I have a couple of close friends who vote GOP. And I cannot FOR THE LIFE OF ME figure out why. They seem like such nice people. WHY would they identify with THAT mob of monsters?

(2,004 posts)We have the narcissist in chief John Kasich as governor, Jon Husted as secretary of voter suppression, Josh Mandel as state treasurer for looting the state treasury, and Mile Dewine as attorney general who cannot find enough religious bigotry to keep up.
Then we have a legislature stacked with crooks, wife beaters, Rethugs that will not pay their personal debts and liars all backed by ALEC, the NRA and the tea party kooks. They keep passing more and more oppressive legislation against voting, women, teachers and unions and passing laws for more guns!
If Kasich is re-elected this fall, it will be a total hell hole. Public pensions will be stolen and all union rights will be destroyed. They are well on their way to destroying public education. Millions of dollars are being stolen from public schools and given to charter school outfits with no accountability. What a nightmare.
Wisconsin, please accept my condolences on the loss of your state, I know what you are going through.
