There's the white plane shape and the colored plane shape. So similar.
I'm less sure than the IT expert who spotted it.

might the planes shadow.

But this could be some other plane coming in for a landing.

If I were looking at this image without prep, I don't think I would see planes at all. Will certainly concede to anybody who has a better perspective on this though. I'm just talking.

The image showed a plane, possibly a Boeing 777, over the Andaman Islands, India's strategic islands in the Bay of Bengal.

''I am confident that the image is that of the missing plane because of many reasons,'' Anoop told the Hindu.

''First giveaway is the fact that the image was captured just above a forest and very close to the Shibpur air strip of Andaman Islands.

''The air strip is exclusively used by the defence forces with no permission for civilian aircraft in this area.''

He said the image appears to show the plane flying extremely low.

''Most importantly, the standard scale measurement and colour of the missing plane matches with that of the plane in the image,'' Anoop said.

Authorities have yet to comment on the picture.

It left Malaysia at ~1am local time, pretty sure it would have been dark if/when it reached the Andaman Islands.

(*unless it's a doctored IR image)

Apparently this has been debunked; image > 2 years old (in addition to the broad daylight aspect)

Satellite image reported on by Indian newspaper does not show Flight 370, is at least 2 years old (h/t @imbeccable)
