I've never seen so many people carried away with such ideological nonsense. All the more reason we have to hang together and never let them get back into power.

say apples are 4 for $1, and suddenly the price drops to 5 for $1. I might buy 5 instead of 4 as long as I am pretty sure I will eat them before they spoil.

On the other hand say I need 4 guys with shovels to dig a ditch by a deadline and I can hire them at $5 an hr. Now suddenly I can hire them at $4 an hr. Do I hire 5 instead? I actually only need 4, so probably not. But let's say I do hire 5. Doesn't the ditch get dug 25% faster, gets finished ahead of schedule, which results in all 5 being out of work a bit sooner?

Of course chances are better that I decide that since I do not need the ditch dug that fast, it is better to save 20% on simply getting it done on time...

(this is just an illustration using small numbers, I would personally either pay more than the minimum or dig my own ditch)

The problem is, she doesn't go far enough.

We have to repeal child labor laws, too.

And, of course, outlaw unions.

Maybe then, and only then, will we be able to compete in a global economy and bring manufacturing jobs back to the US. Sure, they'll pay 25c/hr with no benefits (except one bathroom break a day) and workers will be required to work a 70 hour work week, but, hey, it'll get those unemployment numbers down!

that taxpayers cannot afford to feed, clothe, and house the $.25 an hour workers. At least with the current minimum wage, the taxpayer subsidy to required keep these workers from starving on the street is smaller.

of things bought at the company store. the employers could just deduct the costs from whatever earnings are attained freeing the
serfs from such things as checking account fees and retirement accounts.

Cradle to the grave no worries.

Bachman has zero worth to society. Not a single skill or ability that benefits humanity. She should be on the streets starving in a pile of her own feces.

I mean, who needs customers with that stupid "disposable income" anyway?

We'll just set up a system of wacky pulleys, levers and gears to crank out that lost wealth! STHUFFERIN STHUCCOTASH!!
