(3,489 posts)that was quite a wake up call. Dogs were totally freaked out. Strong rolling and bouncing here in North Hollywood. Hopefully that is it and it is not a precursor of something larger.......

(19,926 posts)Biggest since the Northridge one. Didn't last as long and not as hard but same sort of quake. Big burst and lasted a little while.
I'm about 10-13 miles farther away from Northridge now so I thought it might have been closer to the Northridge quake magnitude. Glad to hear it was 4.4. I would have thought it was bigger.
Just walked through the house looking for kitteh, who bolted off the bed, didn't really look for damage but I don't think there was any to speak of. Perhaps the house "settled" a bit more as it always does anyway since it's on a little hill.
EDITED: They dropped it to 4.4 now.
I also see on the US Geological site that it was:
M4.4 - 9km NNW of Westwood, California 2014-03-17 13:25:36 UTC
So it was in the mountains. The Getty Center was probably the closest buildings. Or maybe some houses further north of that.
