http://www.care2.com/causes/bishops-declare-war-on-government-is-a-superpac-next.html"The Bishops plan to work with other religious organizations, including evangelical Christians, on an election-year public relations campaign to rally against a laundry list of government measures which they believe intrude on religious liberty.
How will this massive election-year pr campaign be coordinated? A SuperPAC, Im sure. Just wait. Its the next logical step for the Bishops here.
So far the Southern Baptist Convention and the National Association of Evangelicals has already pledged money and manpower. Theyve drafted a letter to be read from the pulpit openly protesting the contraception mandate as an assault on religious liberty.
The Bishops have been preparing for this for months. Theyve pushed hospitals to turn away women who may need abortions, shut down Catholic adoption agencies who offer adoption services to same-sex couples, and risked funding for programs to help sex trafficking victims over condoms.

(397 posts)molesting altar boys is not a 'liberty'; it's a crime and it ought to be intruded upon. Besides no real Christian stands with the catholic church. It's a heretical cult. The Cult of Mary.

(45,558 posts)Well, fuck 'em.
I tried the Unitarians and they tended to talk everything to death and felt as if just yaking about something was the same as actually getting out and doing something about problems.
I know, I am generalizing, but I did attend two national conventions representing UU's from all corners of the US.
Since I was an accountant, I attended the seminars about finacial matters, fund raising and what to do with the endowments.
I brought up the fact that too many mutual funds that organizations might invest with can own companies that run contrary to the social justice agenda UU embraces.
You know what i was told? The growth of the endowments were more important to the church than the social agenda of the church. they also made it plain to me that doing so could be a violation of fiduciary responsibility.
Well, that's pretty much when I said fuck it. If they are gonna preach somethng and then act in a breach of what they preach, well...
Anyway, far too much money is sloshing around the religious industrial complex for it's own good. That'sall I have to say about that.
