And that he has to stick his nose into everything.
I have no idea where this wingnut idea came from. Can someone point out to me how Obama wants to "take over basketball"?

She replied "nothing."
Still SOMETHING had to cause her to generate such a comment.

(62,683 posts)from anti-Obama-ites is pretty much impossible. I'm assuming she IS anti-Obama, but I could be wrong?
I tell her all of the time about the things that Republicans are trying to do to anyone other than White Christian males, which includes her, but it never seems to stick. I keep trying.
gateley
(62,683 posts)fears and beliefs contributing to her attitude. You know the old saying "when the student is ready the teacher will appear"? She'll listen and HEAR when she's ready. I hope she does because living with the poison inside that the RW instills and fans has got to be a pretty desolate way of being.
Don't let it come between you.

(39,961 posts)We disagree, but I love her, and there won't be anyone on the planet that can get between me and my mother. If people see politics there, well keep seeing it. I'll defend my mother until I'm six feet under.
That's not to say I'll quit questioning her politics. I will question her positions, and she will likely continue question mine if the situation was reversed.

I'd certainly be curious as to what she thinks this "take over of Basketball" would look like.
She couldn't really give me any specifics, though. (Big surprise, there)

Aerows
(39,961 posts)That's where I suspect it came from, but I'm not sure.
Don't watch it that much, I'd ever. I don't have to. Don't matter as I'm sure somewhere along the way they'll claim that.

(39,961 posts)Then I read that he actually commented about the NCAA tournament, which apparently, he's not supposed to do, since he shouldn't be doing anything but working hard at destroying the country, implementing socialism, and enjoying himself on vacation. But he should be working at destroying the country and implementing socialism instead. Or not.
I get very confused when I listen to these folks.

Back in MY DAY you walked uphill in the snow, both ways, and didn't stand on my lawn. Why back in MY DAY, heat was generated by the potato in your pocket that the woman in the kitchen heated up for you. If you want shoes, what's that? Oh the woman in the kitchen is my wife, you can't cane her with out my say so...Freedom!

Okay. I don't follow sports. My mother likes basketball. Yeah, Obama is not supposed to have an opinion, I see it clearly now.

(20,277 posts)Note -- not laughing at your mom.
They are really fishing for stuff to complain about.
I asked her about it after I found out that this has something to do with Obama offering his opinion on the NCAA tournament, and she couldn't really say anything.
I concluded with "So if you are not Republican, male and white, your opinion is worthless."
She was kind of stunned.
The entire Republican party has an "I need a white daddy" issue.
That's my conclusion.

(39,961 posts)You are expecting a conservative to do something that their very nature is opposed to - questioning "authority". If an "authority" says something, conservatives believe it wholeheartedly. I have over thirty years of proof of this, by living with conservative family members. Questioning authority - unless it has to do with money - is anathema.
