I have a colleague (formerly a friend) who has acquired 2 guns from her wingnut father who is convinced that Obama has an army of blacks at his ready who are going to "mobilize at his command" and basically take down white society as they know it. She laughed about this at first, but is now going to a gun range regularly. Her father is a scary bully who has ruined the lives of both her and her mother and siblings. She feels this need to bond with him and seems ready to get on board with anything he says these days. When he offered her a gun, she was delighted that he was taking an interest in her, but now it has gotten scary. She used to be a rational person, and I no longer can be around her. This happened about a year ago, and I can only imagine how much worse she is now.

it's dead as an individual group that can freely think and support for itself. From planned parenthood to civil servant jobs the GOP forces are actively trying to turn independent organizations into just another lobby for their bankrupt ideas. The NRA represents few Americans and is so clearly biased, why does the media and Democratic politicians treat it like they matter. They need to call it what it is and ignore it.
