Secret Service investigating 'Pretend it's Obama,' incident

Rick Santorum was shooting off a few rounds during a stop at a gun range when a woman decided to shoot her mouth off by saying, "Pretend it's Obama!" Santorum didn't hear the comment thanks to those super-stylish ear muffs, but later ripped the remark as "very terrible and horrible," adding, "I'm glad I didn't hear it." A spokesperson for the Secret Service told the Associated Press the matter was being investigated. "People have a right to free speech but we have a right and an obligation to determine what their intent is," said the rep.

Did Santaliban condemn her comment?

shocked. He didn't hear it because he had headphones on. I hope the woman is embarrassed as hell.

does the secret service really need to be called in? Seriously.

I am all for the secret service investigating legitimate threats against the president but this is more of an intimidation action by the agency. I realize the secret service under Bush had people investigated for quips like this but I felt then and feel now it is unnecessary and just plain over the top.

Had the woman made an actual threat of violence against the president or had she advocated having the Israeli secret police take the president out like the magazine editor did in Atlanta then yes, I would have the secret service investigate.

The person who uttered this stupidity deserves scorn and ridicule but I don't for a minute think there was any threat to the president from these dumb ass remarks.
