37. Let's be honest - the perversion of "Christianity" started with Constantine, maybe even before him.

We have no idea if Jesus was even a real person. The earliest documents we have of any NT book date back to only the 4th century, and we assume those are copies of copies of copies etc. Imagine the number of mistakes that must have entered into those books over millennia. Decisions were made along the way as to which ancient books about Jesus were "legit" and which weren't. Those decisions were made by fallible men, most of whom had a political agenda.

Even the writings of Paul - which came BEFORE the Gospels were written - disagree with the Gospels. In truth, the Gospel accounts of Jesus are most likely a perversion of the ideas set forth in Paul's epistles. The very idea of a corporeal Jesus is a perversion of Paul's portrait of a Jesus who lived entirely in the spirit world, as did many of the other Mediterranean gods of the era.

Perversion is a loaded word when it comes to what is actually "true" about any religion.
