How reporter went to court to prove convicted U.S. murderer could not have killed seven women becaus

Carlton Gary was dubbed the Stocking Strangler in Columbus, Georgia
His alleged murder spree in the 1970s reduced the town to a state of terror
But Mail on Sunday reporter DAVID ROSE says the case has crucial holes
The killer left size nine footprints but Gary's - measured in court - are size 14
Victim claimed she recognised him, but initial statement said it was too dark
'Confession' was also not documented in any way by police at the time
Rose has been called to give evidence and accused of 'lies and propaganda'

You've seen the movie. In the oppressive heat of a wood-paneled courtroom in America’s Deep South, a black man is tried for a series of murderous sex attacks against vulnerable white women.

The evidence is deeply flawed, yet the defendant is found guilty and sentenced by the judge to death by lethal injection. He then faces decades on death row, awaiting his fate.

Last week, I found myself appearing in that movie – or at least, its sequel: a final appeal hearing. And if that wasn’t surreal enough, my role involved brandishing a shoe-size gauge – an instrument that could mean the difference between a man’s life and death.
Quite why it takes a British journalist to help determine the fate of a condemned man in America raises its own questions about the US justice system. But the facts behind this extraordinary case write their own compelling script.

I've been told repeatedly by some DU'ers that Daily Mail is an unacceptable news source. Fk that St. Thanks for posting this.

It's a faux populist rightist rag.

It also devotes lots of resources to American stories the US press seems to ignore.

And it loves it some juicy scandal. It was all over the Steubenville rape case, for instance.

I guess you can't just blanket say "Daily Mail bad."

Some folks dismiss certain sites outofhand. Yet posting from Fox, or the NY Post, seems more than acceptable. Every source has some sort of bias, it can be subtle or blatant. Frankly, I would rather see something posted even from RT or an Iranian site, if it has something to add, and in spite of those sites having a known bias/propaganda outlet. But that is my bias.
