Some reminders for spring driving and riding.

"With winter apparently behind us, the perennial battle between drivers and bicyclists is bound to heat up early.

So, while smiles and waves are still more plentiful than scowls and fingers, I'd like to offer a few thoughts on how the laws of Minnesota, the laws of physics and the Golden Rule should guide our sharing of the road this summer."

you're not only dealing with physics, but with the physiology of sight. People see what they expect to see. A small cross section is interpreted as a car in the distance, not as a biker or cyclist near by. You are competing for attention with every other vehicle on the road, visual clutter in the area and whatever is going on inside the car itself, whether it's bickering kids or a load radio.
