citing some stats about how much better the charter school kids in economically disadvantaged communities were doing than public schools. I kept hoping someone would ask if that particular school was open to every kid, even those who have emotional or learning disabilities (who might potentially disrupt a classroom). But they never mentioned that.
Then I looked at the time and predicted Joe Scar launching the inevitable attack on teachers unions. And then Willy solemnly intoned the inevitable "it's not about money..." as if money had absolutely nothing to do with it...chuckling as I recalled my days of raising money in Greenwich, CT where every one of my major donors (with only one exception) sent their kids to one of three private local lower grade schools...
They said charter schools are launching a multi million dollar ad campaign to fight Mayor DiBlasio who is supporting the public schools in the city. I wondered where they got the money for such a campaign...
Heads up for tomorrow's show: Eva Moscowitz will be on...I hope they have someone from our side who can challenge her!
