Since when did someone who had 1 or 2 somewhat well-known rock songs in the 70s....

....demand so much attention in the news today?

I don't get it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm actually happy if he opens his yapper if only because I hope it downs Abbott.

But why should Ted Nugent be relevant in any way, shape or form?

Rather do all the boring stuff like background research and conducting interviews, they know all that have to do is roll a camera in the presence of Ted Nugent (or Victoria Jackson)(or some Republican State Legislator from East Bumfuckistan) and they'll be assured of something to regurgitate in the next news cycle.

I'm convinced that outrage is a veritable cottage industry in this country. The media reports stupid shit like this, and then my e-mail inbox explodes with a dozen or more political groups who want me to send them money because Ted Nugent said something stupid. And it works both ways (this is a case where both sides do it). When a Democrat says something like, "You didn't build that," the conservative outrage machine kicks into high gear, and I'm sure that my mother's email inbox (if she had one) would be full of solicitations from the Family Research Council.

And don't get me started on the goddam Kardashians...

If he were a bleeding heart liberal, you would get crickets. Hell, even Springsteen's criticism of Christie got less play. And the Boss is a million times more popular than poopy pants.

because if Ted Nugent says something outrageous, many people will want to know what he said (without necessarily agreeing with him).

Basic media formula: ratings = more commercials or more expensive commercials = more money for the shareholders and senior management. Integrity & honesty become secondary.

There is a good chance those throwing the bomb will get burnt. When they get burnt you turn away. That is how I view ex rock & country music stars, delusional actors, radio shock jocks and totally ignorant politicians (this also includes all of Fox News) throwing firebombs.

70's, and he is one of this small handful that actually had a well known song.

So maybe that's why conservatives idolize him.

Plus, he loves to kill things, making him even more of a conservative hero.

Ted said he wasn't a racist, then took credit for getting Piers Morgan fired...and then stated that he was going after Don Lemon and Wolf Blitzer next!

But no, Ted Nugent isn't a racist or a bigot!

He's a no-talent hack. And I've seen a couple of DU'ers post that that they've personally witnessed him doing drugs which goes against his "teetotaler" image he tries to have.
