The real reason Uganda's government wants to ban gays...

They are inspired by American evangelists like Scott Lively, yes.

But the real reason?

The Ugandan government is so corrupt they stink on ice.

They desperately NEED this diversion.

Up until 2003, it was illegal in many states for homosexuals to engage in sodomy. In 1998, two gays were arrested in Houston for having sex and the case went to the SCOTUS. In Lawrence v. Texas, the SCOTUS declared that the laws making it illegal to be a homosexual were void and the conservatives have been trying to get around this ruling. The Texas GOP had a plank in their party platform to reinstate the Texas sodomy law until 2012 and the VA attorney general attempted to reinstate the Virginia sodomy laws.

Since these idiots can not make it illegal to be a homosexual in the US, they want to take their hatred and bigotry abroad. These same idiots are also helping Putin and the Russians. It is really sad that the United States is exporting hatred and bigotry.
