(4,407 posts)Republicans can promote that they're keeping guns legal and claim that they're protecting freedoms - it's just an issue to get people to vote for them. Whether it's good or bad for the country has no bearing in their decision to defend gun rights. This will not change until enough people are significantly impacted to change their positions, after which Republicans will follow them without hesitation.
So basically, before this can get better, it has to get worse.
