(35,730 posts)How he cancelled the tunnel saying NJ couldn't afford it. The federal gov't had a lot of money into this and they asked for it back. He wouldn't return it and instead used it to pay for fixing roads, so he basically took tunnel money and used it on the roads to avoid raising tolls and taxes.
They're investigating that, also.
There isn't a prayer in hell this guy will ever be president. Federal prison, yes. I can't wait.

(3,596 posts)Even if there turns out to be no "smoking gun", these investigations and the revelations of the management of Sandy relief funds, the Hoboken debacle and the GWB incident along with a myriad of other thuggish actions by this governor and his administration, have made him damaged goods.
Democrats will not be cooed by his claim to having engaged in bi-partisanship and gotten bi-partisan support even in his re-election (we now know he strong armed - or maybe big-bellied them - no offense to people of largesse). The tea bag republicans hate him anyway because he embraced the socialist Kenyan community organizer, put a Muslim on a court and didn't keep fags from marrying. Traditional Republicans see him as tainted goods and have no interest in supporting him...question is who will they support? Independents don't like drama. They are looking for someone who is pragmatic but doesn't come with a lot of baggage. Christie has tons of baggage.
I predict the following:
(1) CC bows out of being the head of the RGA association within the next 6 months
(2) CC does NOT pursue any other office
(3) CC may be impeached under NJ law (50-50 chance)
(4) CC is charged with crimes (70-30 chance)
(5) CC is convicted and sentenced to prison (10% chance)

"He embraced the socialist Kenyan community organizer"
"didn't keep fags from marrying"

(23,973 posts)Back in December.
If he didn't know anything about anything, why did he ask Cuomo to stop investigating something Christie said he knew nothing about?
Who asked Christie to make it stop? Make what stop, Christie said he knew nothing.
What reason did he give Cuomo to put pressure on Foye? That his aides were worried about something Foye was doing, but didn't tell Christie why they were worried, only to make it stop?
After all, he said that he didn't know anything about what his aides were doing right up to the day before he held his press conference.
That December 12 phone call asking Cuomo to stop Foye happened *before* his "I know nothing!" presser .
Christie had to know something about the reason for this investigation by Foye, and that it would hurt him if he didn't get Cuomo to stop it.
Christie is so fucked, he knows it, every day that goes by is one day closer to his being indicted.
All this stuff currently going on are just legal delaying tactics, the end game will soon be upon him.

(21,043 posts)I think people understand that there's no way in hell he didn't know about this gigantic waste of taxpayer money, time, endangerment of human lives, and, really, crime. He'd have to be in a coma not to have known. It's good enough for me that people understand this.

(5,946 posts)4 weeks would have guaranteed someone would have died. Then the shit would have been flying a lot faster than it is today.
The thing that kills me is that a lot of the Sandy crap was going around and people did not question it, yet that is what I think will bring him down. Today he said he spent 40% of his time working on Sandy related stuff - what would that be? figuring out who needs to be rewarded and who needs to be punished with the federal funds - that is a federal crime. Pushing towns to bring in rich developers - like rezoning to get rid of my trailer park? It sure was not for most of the beach towns, only the richest made out.
NJCher
(35,730 posts)And what amazes me is that the federal gov't, as represented by Obama, came here and helped his sorry ass out and now what does he do? He blames the federal government for his disorganization and corruption.
I have to think that is not going down well in DC.
