1. That is troubling. I wonder what the voting divide was among the jurors.

Maybe there was only one or two holdouts in favor of acquittal on all counts, in which case there may be a retrial which will result in a conviction on at least manslaughter. However, a conviction on on at least M-2 seems more appropriate.
