GOP Rep.: Climate Change 'Unproven'

GOP Rep.: Climate Change 'Unproven'

Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) on Sunday said that climate change is "unproven" during a debate with scientist Bill Nye on NBC's "Meet the Press."

"There is not consensus there," she said about evidence of global warming. "What we need to be looking at is the way to achieve efficiencies."

She also questioned Nye's credentials.

"Neither he nor I are climate scientists. He's an engineer and actor; I'm a member of Congress," she said.

Nye argued that the U.S. needs to address climate change now.

Why hasn't the Boxer-Sanders climate bill gotten more attention?

2. Bill Nye seems to think Republicans can be reasoned with.

"There is no debate in the scientific community. And I encourage the congresswoman to look at the facts," said, Nye. She's a Republican, she don't need no stinkin facts.

that most of what we believe in the Bible is taken on faith - faith is something that is unproven. And I would add that climate change has more proof than many of the Biblical events.

David, (to his credit), kept them from talking over each other most of the time.

David Gregory was his usual duplicitous self, though, talking out of both sides of his mouth, or legitimizing either viewpoint.

He did say that there was a large "consensus" that GCC was in part caused by man, but then acknowledged that there "may be some who don't agree". What a disservice to science.
