He's a great guy and I wish him the best.

I'm one of these people who doesn't need "my team" to win every frigging time. If they make it to the show, good for them. I've learned this from being a Red Sox fan for well over half a century...!
If the Cubs make it to the series, I'd root for them, because they have some great fans and they'd appreciate the win.

(33,688 posts)on the last day of the Impossible Dream season in 1967 when I was a boy. They played with so much heart that year I had to like them and was thrilled when they ended the Curse decades later. I was in Boston for grad school during the 1986 Series and was absolutely heartbroken by Game 6 about which I will say no more. I still root for the Sawx as long as they're not playing the Twins. I too would root for the Cubbies just for the sake of their long-suffering fans.

(5,957 posts)Sparano's creditied with bringing the wildcat offense to the NFL. I can see Tebow having a significant role with that.

(4,340 posts)Tebow struggles to get 50%. Even in the Wildcat, NFL defenses will know exactly what to expect from Tebow in NY.

(5,957 posts)I think Tebow's accuracy will improve. I don't see him being primarily used as a passer, but more as a running back with a credible threat to throw the ball. He's been very effective in the red zone.
This will either go very, very well or it will be a disaster. It will be interesting either way.

(261 posts)It's nice to know that you have better first-hand insight than all of those folks who know him (including teammates) who say he is what he comes across as.
So, how do you know him?
I thought so.....

(29,322 posts)Just don't understand doing an ad for a hate group isn't weighed with all the good stuff. He strikes me as someone with a majority of right wing views, I'm sure the folks who know people like Palin or Romney personally would say they're great people.
SATIRical
(261 posts)would he do an ad for what he considered a hate group?
Nope.

(1,033 posts)And I don't understand how he fits in with the Jets at all.
I wish him the best, though. He's a good guy and a team-first player, which you don't see too often nowadays. I could care less about his or any other player's politics.
JonLP24
(29,322 posts)doubt he's speedy enough to return kickoffs but I see him as having a similar package of plays as Brad Smith did.

(20,783 posts)Didn't Tebow cost Denver two #1s? Amazing.
I have nothing against Tebow, and hope he finds success. It's just going to be hard with his unusual skill set. And I doubt the Jets are the organization to turn him around.
What Tebow needs is several years as a backup behind an outstanding QB coach like the one in GB. But there's nothing he can do about it until he's a free agent.

(8,556 posts)And people would still say he sucked. It's also funny how the Tebow haters have made me actually pay attention to him. I'm not really talking about here either. While probably a majority of DUers don't like him, he does have a decent number of defenders.
Now I actually want him to succeed, for the sole reason that I'd love to see the reactions.
sadbear
(4,340 posts)He just doesn't have the skill set. But he could probably rush for 120 yards and 5 touchdowns in the Superblow, but that's different.

(13,211 posts)because of the required 5 million payment to Denver. Jacksonville is reported to be talking to Tebows agent.

(420 posts)and ask the Broncos to waive the 5m requirement.
Should be simple enough.
The Broncos can then pick up Brandon Weeden, an excellent heir apparent for Manning.

(182,861 posts)selling seats is one thing but it is clear that Denver was moving from when the clock went 00:00 in the Patriots game to get rid of him.
Granted Blane is a disaster (literally afraid of his own shadow in the pocket) but Tebow needs jr high level coaching to get up to 3rd string status.
