Well lookie lookie - U.S. Attorney’s Office seeking additional Christie reelection campaign records

The U.S. Attorney’s Office wants two years of records beyond what a legislative panel has already requested, Governor Christie’s reelection campaign lawyer said Monday.

That subpoena seeks information going back two years earlier than the subpoenas issued by the legislative committee investigating closures, according to the attorney, Mark Sheridan.

Sheridan discussed the subpoenas at a state Election Law Enforcement Commission meeting today, where he was asking the commission to allow Christie’s campaign to use campaign money to pay the expenses of responding to the subpoenas. The commission agreed to allow the campaign to use the money to cover the legal costs.

Sheridan said he could not give many details about the grand jury subpoena because the U.S. attorney has not given him permission to discuss it.

Christie may have been careful to leave not paper trail himself but I doubt that his campaign and staff were as careful
