Let's turn Kentucky blue

The State already has a Democratic Governor.

...Two weeks ago, a statewide poll in Kentucky found that 79% of state residents agreed with Gov. Steve Beshear’s decision to expand Medicaid coverage. Even 60% of Kentucky Republicans support the idea, suggesting Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) hasn’t exactly persuaded his own in-state allies on the issue.

First, get rid of Mitch

After Bashing Obama's Unpopularity In KY, McConnell Is Less Popular

During a private phone call not long after his re-election victory, President Barack Obama caught an earful from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) about his unpopularity in Kentucky, a Democratic source familiar with the conversation confirmed to TPM. The president lost the state by 23 points.

But in a cruel twist, McConnell, who is up for re-election in 2014, is now even less popular than Obama in his own conservative state, according to a recent statewide poll conducted by SurveyUSA for Kentucky news outlets.

Obama's approval rating in the Bluegrass State edges out McConnell's by a margin of 34 percent to 32 percent, the survey found.

Next, get rid of this asshole.

Rand Paul Struggles To Explain Why He's Supporting McConnell (AUDIO)

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is embarrassed to be supporting Mitch McConnell for re-election, and he can barely hide it.

In a radio interview posted to YouTube on Saturday, the conservative freshman was asked by an incredulous Glenn Beck why he's endorsing the Senate Republican leader.

After an awkward pause, Paul tried to change the subject.

"Um ... I'm here in Texas today to endorse Don Huffines," he said.

benefits greatly from his policies. Too bad they're uninformed on the matter. I'm glad Obamacare is shifting their focus. Kentucky has more registered Democrats than Republicans, they just lost their way.

carried the state with 62% of the vote. It's a tough election and the Democratic candidate will likely lose. All the polls have that one as going red.

Kentucky's a weird state politically, it's really hard to know how it will go. I'm curious to see how things stand after the primary.
