I have a question for DU members from Wisconsin.

I just read the Ryan/GOP budget. He did it again.

What I don't understand, is he that popular in Wisconsin that he can bring budgets like this forward year after year? Is he in a gerrymandered district? How does he keep getting voted in?

Can you help me understand. Thanking you in advance.

I have asked her about Ryan repeatedly. She says he is popular in his district, and there is little hope of getting rid of him.

Wisconsin is a purple state. The liberal parts of the state are very liberal. But there are red areas where there is little hope of making any changes. He just happens to be from one of those areas.

Making or keeping Wisconsin blue is a never-ending task. Maybe it will work this time, because Walker has made people all over the state see the consequences of voting for such people, or staying home and not voting at all. I hope the recalls work, and they get rid of some of their conservatives. The whole world is watching.

Survivors Benefits, and all he wants to do is yank it away from everyone else. He looks like a cross between Eddie Haskel and Eddie Munster with the personality of a wet fish.

I am supporting the recall to my limited best. I hope it works.

He's in the 1st congressional district...this was Les Aspin's district from 1971 to 1993, it's been republican since 1995

He's a darling of the neo-Con types.

The repubs may have a brokered convention. Ryan may want to be on the ticket as veep, with Presidential ambitions down the road. Does that sound plausible to you?

The jerk who is the editor of the Freeport Journal Standard in Freeport IL likes him for higher office, too. The same week that Wisconsin exploded over Walker's repressions, and people started occupying the capitol in Madison, this editor praised Ryan's budget ideas and promoted the idea of sending the fool to Washington. I sent the editor a nasty email about his anti-union, anti-teacher sentiments, but I did not mention anything about his praise of Ryan. If he says anything else, it will be time for another LTTE. Often, I feel like giving up. But we can't do that. We have to keep spreading our message. I wonder how many people realize what is going on with Ryan, and what ending Medicare, replacing it with vouchers, would mean to families. And that is only the tip of the iceberg!

with better coverage. AARP keeps sending me these 'take out supplements' insurance packets for about double the cost of Medicare. Hell, I was paying more deductible and co-pay with insurance. I am putting some away to pay deductibles and co-pay though.

I cannot imagine anyone not trying to protect Medicare for future generations, and that includes neo-Cons.
