Martin Grand Jury to convene April 10th. DOJ gets in on the investigation.

A Seminole County grand jury, as well as the U.S. Department of Justice, will investigate the Trayvon Martin case, the racially-charged fatal shooting of an unarmed black 17-year-old in Sanford.

State Attorney Norm Wolfinger this morning released a prepared statement, saying he would have a county grand jury hear evidence April 10. His office, with the help of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, is reviewing and collecting evidence in the case, his statement said.

Also, the Department of Justice said in a statement late Monday that it will conduct a "thorough and independent review."

That would not be a murder or manslaughter investigation but a parallel one into whether the shooter, George Zimmerman, 28, violated Trayvon's civil rights.
