Republicans cannot seem to escape their conspiracy theories about how Obama and the Democrats unfairly 'audited" conservative political action groups, which were registered as 501-C4s. They can't stop screaming about it.
First of all, what they were doing was illegal. The law specifically states that the majority of their donations must go to charitable causes, not political causes.
Second of all, what they were doing was illegal.
Do we really need to say more?

(111,110 posts)I would recommend that the President request the Justice Department to look into the matter. If there are folks breaking this law, on either side, then maybe they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law?
