Vice President Joe Biden said he sees no reason why he shouldnt run for president in 2016 while giving no indication hes made a decision to jump into the race.
There may be reasons I dont run, but theres no obvious reason for me why I think I should not run, Biden told CNNs New Day program today.
Biden said hed make his decision sometime in the middle of 2015. If he enters the race, Biden may face former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who also is a contender for the Democratic nomination. Polls consistently show Clinton, 66, is the frontrunner for the partys 2016 contest.
Biden, 71, said his decision will be based on whether hes the best candidate to advocate for two issues he cares most about: standing up for ordinary people and a sound foreign policy.

(20,600 posts)I think the only way this could possibly work is if he picked a running mate MUCH younger than he is, say, as close to 35 as possible.
Then, he could decline a second term, and the vice president could run in his place in a second term.
