(31,849 posts)a bunch of my friends. But especially the last one. I have a bunch of right wing associates that for years have worked jobs they hate ... just for the healthcare,
And if I could figure out how to pin a message to the toons ... I would add: "When asked how many slaves she had freed, Harriet Tubman answered '1,000 ... but I could have freed 1,000 more, if I could have convinced them they were slaves'."

(26,648 posts)people are no longer slaves to their benefits.. Always wondered why the corps call health insurance "benefits" but Medicare is, somehow, an "entitlement."

(1,240 posts)I can understand if someone is close financially to being OK they might quit their second job to get on the ACA but this simply does not describe most people. As I get older even with good insurance the thought of retiring is not looking all that good. I have already discovered even with good insurance I forked out 15K last year in insurance cost, co-pays, deductibles, and the 20% I always have to pay. I did not face much in the way of a major medical problem and only had some age-related things going on. I cannot retire ever if I am going to have to come up with huge amounts of money like last year on a more frequent basis and heaven forbid if I am faced with a major medical issue. This does not go away even on ACA.

(22,000 posts)called "Wack your boss". The boss comes in your cubicle and tells you that you are a good for nothing so and so, and that they are going to cut your pay and make you work over time and you can't do anything about it. But wait....you can: 1) hit him with the stapler, put his head through the cubicle, tie him to the chair and push him out the window, etc.
Yeah I know it's sick.
